Thursday, 15 October 2009 |
We are pleased to advise that on Tuesday, October 13, Nillumbik Council formally approved the project to construct the second pitch at GHC, following a lengthy tender process.
The successful tenderer was TigerTurf, using their state-of-the-art WETT Dressed synthetic grass technology. This same surface has been installed at Footscray’s second ground…some of you may have had the opportunity to play on this surface.
We have now entered the contract negotiation phase, and hope to complete this process by the end of October.
We are also finalising financing arrangements with the Bendigo Bank. In addition, we are working hard on securing some additional funding through the Victorian Government, which will result in GHC having to borrow much less for the pitch project.
At this stage, we are hoping construction of the new pitch will commence during November, but this depends on our discussions with the Victorian Government.
Either way, our new pitch will be ready for the start of the 2010 season or shortly thereafter.
Please do not hesitate to contact David Fraser on 0418 344 313, if you have any questions re the new pitch. |
