Message from the President Further to the update provided at the AGM in April regarding the second ground project, I wish to provide all club members and supporters with the latest news. Planning approval was granted in mid June and since then Nillumbik Shire Council has advertised for tenders from suitably experienced contractors for the design, supply and construction of the new ground. Tenders close on the 24th July 2009 and together with Council we will participate in the tender evaluation and contractor selection process. These are exciting developments and we can expect construction to begin before the current season finishes. Can I also urge everyone please to support the forthcoming 50th Yr celebration on the 25th July and to support the Club’s fundraising efforts. It will be a night to remember so don’t miss it. Following recommendation from the Hockey Victoria Officiating Committee (HVOC), Hockey Victoria advises all affiliates that the changes to the FIH Free Hit Rule will be introduced at start the 2009 HV Winter Competition Season. This will apply to all Hockey Victoria competition sections, which includes Overage/SuperVets, Openage and Underage competitions.
